1973 Big Block Corvette Stingray Coupe $29,900 SOLD
Original big block LS4 car, one of only 4,412 built in 1973. It is also an original M21 4-speed Muncie car, one of only 3,704 in 1973. The 4-speed transmission was replaced in February, 2012 with a 5-speed overdrive Tremec transmission. Consequently, with the current rear differential, the car drives at 75 mph at a little under 2500 rpm resulting in highway mileage of 21 miles per gallon.
The engine was rebuilt in November, 2006 with new rings, bearings, 9.6:1 pistons, aluminum Edelbrock intake manifold, updated competition cam, ceramic coated Hooker Super Comp headers, Holly carburetor, and aluminum flywheel. This resulted in increasing the engine to approximately 325 hp and 413 foot pounds of torque at the crankshaft. In addition, the original radiator has been replaced with a larger aluminum radiator, thereby keeping the engine temperature significantly cooler than the original configuration.
The standard interior was upgraded to a deluxe interior in 2002 which included leather seats, electric windows and deluxe carpeting. New door panels and interior trim panels were added. Though the work was done sixteen years ago, the interior remains in excellent condition.
Though the car has just over 199,000 miles, it remains in superb mechanical and aesthetic condition due to the continue replacement of parts as required to make the care driveable anywhere for any number of miles. All receipts for work done by current owner available for perusal.
Asking price is $29,900.
SOLD 2003 Z06 Corvette $29,000 SOLD
For sale is a 2003 Z06 in the highly sought after Millennium Yellow colour with Black interior. All of the vehicle's systems function properly with no mechanical issues. The car has 98,450 km's on it but has always been well maintained and looked after. The best part of this particular vehicle however is the engine. It is a fresh build with only break in time on it. Made 505 horsepower and 540 ft. lbs. of torque at the wheels, which roughly converts to just over 600hp and 650 ft. lbs at the crankshaft. It has a brand new GM block, forged K1 Tech rods, custom Diamond pistons, Comp cam and valvetrain, and a Magnuson intercooled supercharger. It makes between 12-14 lbs. of boost with great drive ability and a ton of power. It also has all of the upgrades that should be done when running substantial boost such as bigger injectors, boost-a-pump etc. The car also has brand new Baer Eradispeed rotors and Hawk pads, again never even see the road! The car has 3M paint protection on the front bumper and behind each wheel but the paint still has some minor defects. It still shows well and shines nicely, but there is some cracking on the passenger side rear bumper and a scratch on the drivers side headlight door. Wheels are factory size but the Motorsport version of the chrome Z06 wheel. Please do not hesitate to contact Jason or Lawrence with any questions you may have. We will ship anywhere in the world but the cost of shipping will be the buyers responsibility. This vehicle is not owned by Western Corvette, but being listed for a good customer of ours. It will be a private sale between the buyer and the owner of the car. Thank you for looking and happy bidding!
SOLD 1967 L68 Corvette Convertible $125,000 SOLD
Overview
For sale is a beautiful 1967 Corvette Convertible. This car is not owned by us but the owner is a long time customer of ours and he has asked us for help selling the car. The current owner purchased the car in 1988 with 66,121 miles on the odometer and enjoyed it just as it was for a couple years. Then in 2001 the decision was made to do a full body off restoration on the car. The work was done by a very well known Corvette restorer in Canada named Mike Thorpe. As the car sits now it has just 67,730 miles on the odometer, meaning that in the 28 years that the current owner has had the car he has logged just 1,600 additional miles. That averages out to just 57 miles per year! When asked about it he has said that since the restoration being completed in 2002 he doesn’t even think he has washed the car! It has always been stored in a heated, secured garage with a car cover on and it is in remarkable condition. This particular vehicle is an iconic and highly desirable example of just how nice a restored Corvette can be.
History
This car was ordered with some very desirable options back when it was new and because of these options it is sure to be a very rare car and a sound investment. Of course the best option that was chosen was the L68 427cu in. 400 horsepower big block. This means it received the highly sought after triple-carb induction as well as the iconic “stinger” hood which was only available on 1967 big block Corvette’s. Only 2,101 cars out of almost 23,000 built in 1967 received this engine option. This vehicle still retains its original engine complete with matching numbers and correct date codes. Another rare option and something that is truly unique about this car is the fact that it is fitted with the M35 powerglide automatic transmission. What makes it very unique is that only 2,324 cars received the auto transmission in 1967, and the vast majority of those were small block cars. The fact that this 400hp big block car originally came with an auto makes it probably one of only a handful. The rare options do not stop there, this car is also fitted with code J50 power brakes, N40 power steering, A31 power windows, N14 side exhaust system and N89 aluminum bolt on wheels. When the car was purchased by its current owner in 1988 it had of course been painted red at some point in its life, but during the restoration was returned back to its original code 984 Sunfire Yellow which only 2,325 cars came from the factory with.
Engine
The engine in this particular car is a highly desirable L68 427cu inch, 400 horsepower big block. The casting numbers are correct on all of the major components and the stamp pad is still clearly visible and correct. The outboard side of the pad reads T1012JD, the T means it was assembled at the Tonawanda plant, the 1012 means it was assembled on October 12, 1966 and the JD means it was a L68 400hp, with an automatic transmission. The inboard side of the pad reads 7103179, the 103179 is the last 6 digits of the vin and we can tell by that number that the car was assembled in early-mid November of 1966. The engine was completely gone through and freshened when the restoration was done. Anything that needed repaired was done and as many correct numbered and dated GM parts were used. The car runs great with no issues once so ever. The carburetors have been rebuilt since the restoration was done with all new gaskets and seals. Therefore there are no leaks, the car starts easily, it will sit and idle no problem and also runs great when you get into the throttle and open up all three carbs.
Transmission and Differential
The transmission and differential were also completely gone through and rebuilt at the time of the restoration. Fresh seals and bearings were installed in the differential but other than that all of the factory hard parts remain. The transmission was rebuilt and shifts like a dream. No issues in either of these components.
Suspension and Chassis
The suspension and chassis were completely gone through and rebuilt at the time of the restoration. All of the old, cracked bushings were replaced with correct rubber units and as many GM ones were used as possible. The chassis was completely disassembled right down to the bare frame. From there, all of the parts were sandblasted to remove surface rust and grime from years of use, once down to bare clean metal all the parts were inspected for quality and correctness. Once all of the parts were deemed good enough for the build they were painted in factory correct colors and even all of the factory markings, dots and lines were put back the way they would have been from the factory.
Paint and Body
All of the paint and body work were done at the same time the restoration was underway. The body was completely stripped down to the bare fiberglass in order to make sure there was no previous body work done to the car. All of the fiberglass was in great shape and all of the factory bonding strips are visible and intact. It was then painted in its original Sunfire Yellow color and reassembled onto the chassis. All of the trim and bumpers were re-chromed at the time of the restoration and even though it is now 14 years ago the paint and chrome still shine just like the restoration was finished yesterday.
Interior
Just like the rest of the car, the interior was completely redone at the time of the restoration. If they were available GM parts were used but if not the best reproduction units were used. Everything in the interior works and functions as it is supposed to, the inside of the car looks just as good, if not better than the day it rolled off the assembly line.
Conclusion
This is one of the nicest, most correct and best optioned examples of a 1967 big block roadster you will find anywhere. There was no expense spared at the time of the restoration and since it was completed the car has hardly been driven. When it was stored it was always inside, in a heated garage, under a cover. We have over 100 pictures of the car, from just about every single angle, and even from when the restoration was done. If you have any questions please feel free to email or call Jason or Lawrence at 403-255-2111. We will help organize shipping anywhere in the world but please know that the cost of shipping will be the responsibility of the purchaser. Thank you for looking!
